A Quick Overview

Capitol Radio were running a competition in March to go to a TC gig. Me and Rach are like huge fans, and we hadn't gotten the chance to go before seeing as they'd been away. So of course we entered every night by texting in the code word, and also on the internet. I swear on the internet we entered like 50 times or something. Well anyway, we thought we hadnt won coz it'd been a while, but i was on a course at leicester uni, and my phone started ringing...i'm like what the? who rings my on private number at like 10am? And so the woman was like this is Gemma from Leicester Sound, I'm thinking yeah and??? And she was like is that Sarah? You've won tickets to see The Calling in London at a private invitation only gig, can you go on Saturday.....uh YEAH!!!!!

Well, let me say, for the couple of days before me and Rach were just high! And all the way down to London as well. And the gig? OMFG 6 acoustic songs, Alex and a guitar. *wow* we were real close, and i got some okish pics. And i got Alex to sign my invitation (it had a pic of the two of them on) and he signed it Sarah - love AB woooooooooo!

Sarah's Story

Wot a bloody cock up! :(
I am sooo sad because i missed practically the whole show...id waited 2 years and i missed it!!!!!

The story......

We got into the venue and went to the floor and were like 4/5 rows back from the front....the support acts came on and i was fine. Then this cocky bastard (the didn't even like TC and was drunk "oh yeah.i love the corrs..." wanker..) started shoving and being gay......then TC came on....i got crushed and the people around me seemed huge......

My sister got dragged over the barrier! So i broke down and started panicing really bad...so this lovely woman (i don't know who she was but thanks) got the body guards' attention and then i got dragged out, and they pulled at my trousers,....it was sooo weird....and then my best mate followed.

We went into the medical bit and had bags to breathe in. My sis was there with NO SHOES on! She'd lost them...and they were mine! I was crying so hard coz i cud hear Alex singing and i wanted to be out there..i was heart broken.

These men took us right round the back of the bar and I couldn't see a thing.....so when they went away we went to side of stage and sort of saw them perform "For You", "Stigmatized", "Wherever You Will Go"....

So after that, i was sooooo upset i'd missed it all!!! You can imagine :(

We went back in after to get Ana's shoes (tee hee), she had odd socks on too, of all times! lol..there was this tiny crowd near the stage....and Daniel was there signing....then Chops came. Alex popped his head round and said 'we'll go in the tunnel'...i was like.....GOOOOOOOOOO!

I MET>>>>>>>>>>>>
ALEX - i told him my story and he was like "You missed the whole show?!" and he said they were coming back in OCTOBER! yay!
Then he signed my Camino Palmero and Two.
I asked him whether he got my painting and he sed "i got a stack of things back there" (i hope he got it)

My sister told him her story and he went "THEY TOOK YOUR SHOES???!!!!" and his face was priceless! After he signed for me and my sis he looked back at us and went "thanks for coming" bLESS...he is the sweetest guy ever! He looked so small and he managed so well! He signed for everyone!
O...and i nearly blinded him...and i said 'sorry' and he went "im used to it, its ok" awwww!

CHOPS - WHAT A DUDE! He is really quite handsome! he's soo funny! I got my jeans signed and my ticket....he was soo nice about us missing the show.....
and I gave him a kiss on his whiskery face....and he had THEE coolest boots ever!

DANIEL - WELL......he was cool! and so nice. I got hugs...he had a little posse round him and everyone wanted hugs so he went round the circle and went 'huug'...'huug'...'huuug'....it was so funny! He signed my jeans too!

AND MY BOOB ;) ha ha! He signed the top of my boob... and went "very rock and roll!" and i said..."my dads around here sumwhere..he went...."UR DAD! I'M NOT BEING HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS!" tee hee...

I didn't see the show but heard a lot and it was AMAZING! I'm definetly going again! That band is...words can't explain!

Katie's (Katie88 on the Loft) Story

Hey guys!!
I'm going to tell you about one of the best days of my life hehe :) Ok, so I arrived at the venue at around 5:45. I could hear Alex singing "Things Will Go My Way" at the sound check and I got all excited! There were two girls standing in front of the door and I asked them if they were lofters. One girl said she was, but that she never posts on the loft...the other girl had no idea what the loft was, lol. So anyway, they told me that there were these girls with shirts on that said "loft" on them...so they pointed them out and I went up to them. Turns out it was Kat (live_for_music) and her friend (i'm so sorry, but I don't remember your name...I suck with names :( i'm thinking it's Nicole, but i'm really not sure) I went up to Kat and said "Hey are you Kat? I'm Mariana!" and she said hi. Then all of a sudden I hear "Mariana! Where have you been young lady?" It was mom!! I hadn't even seen her! It was so cool to finally meet her!! She was there with Jadzia. It was so cool to meet them both! They are incredibly sweet :) So anyway, we started to talk and apparently, the band had just arrived like five minutes before I got there, lol. But then after a while, I saw the guys walking around outside and going to the tour bus and stuff. Then Alex came outside and mom went to talk to him. He told her what we would have to do to get into the meet and greet. So then he went onto the tour bus and we went to stand in line in front of the door. We got in at around 7 I think...we went up for the meet and greet. God, it was way too dark up there! I really hope my pictures turned out ok. Anyway, the band came up and everyone started to line up to get autographs. When it was my turn, I introduced myself and asked Alex if he remembered the present I sent him for his twenty second birthday. I described it and he said "Oh my god! Yeah, I remember! That was you? I thought that was from Brazil." So then I told him that I was living in Brazil and just got back to Canada a while ago. Anyway, he said that it was kind of damaged when he got it, but he glued everything back together. He said it was one of the coolest gifts he'd ever gotten :) He thanked me for it like three times!! Hehe anyway, so then I gave him this little stuffed beaver and he looks at it and goes "What's this? A badger? (spelling?)" and I laughed and said "No, it's a beaver. A Canadian beaver!" and he said "Oh ok, thanks!" and then I told him that my 9 year old sister really likes him and that she really wanted to come to the show, but she couldn't so she made him a card. He said "Aww, that was sweet of her! I'll read it later...I'm gonna put it right here next to the Canadian beaver!" lol, so anyway, I got my CDs signed and pictures signed for my sisters and Paola. Then I asked him for a hug and he hugged me hehe. Oh, and I also got a picture with him. So then I talked to Daniel. He's so cool! He signed my CDs and noticed that I had the Brazilian version of "Two" and I told him that I was living in brazil blah, blah, blah. and he said that they're going to brazil and I said "Oh, really?" (now that I think about it...why did I say that? I knew they were going to Brazil in October! Too nervous I guess, lol) so he goes "Yeah, we're going in October" so then I got a hug from him too. (By the way, he is the best hugger, lol) So then I went on to Chops and he signed my CDs and he told me not to be nervous, lol. (I told him I was lol). Then i got a hug from him too, hehe. Then I went on to Corey and he also signed my CDs. I didn't talk much to him, now that I think about it. But he was nice and he gave me a hug too, lol. Then I went on to Justin, got my CDs signed and he thanked me for coming to the show and I also got a hug from him. God, that took forever to type and really that all happened in like less than 5 minutes! So then after everyone was gone, me, Kat and her friend went and got a picture with the band. Then we went down for the show. Mom and Jadzia had already gone ahead, so we went to meet up her again in front of the stage. I thought that after all that time, we'd end up being really far from the stage, but I got there and the place was practically empty and the few people that were there chose to sit far from the stage. So i got really up close :) Ok, so then the opening band came on (i think they were called Nectar...i had never heard of them before). Their music wasn't bad, except there was something wrong with their vocals. I couldn't hear a thing! So then after 9 LONG songs, they stopped playing. After a while, the moment we had all been waiting for arrived! The Calling walked onto the stage! They started off with "Adrienne", then played "One by One" (one of my fave songs off the new album and it was great to hear it live), "Chasing the Sun", "Anything" (sooooo amazing live!), "Could it be Any Harder", "Somebody out There" (also very cool live, they had a really cool intro for it too), "Things Will Go My Way" (my absolute fave song off the new album, I had to hold in my tears...it was so beautiful), "For You", "Stigmatized" (again, i almost cried), "Our Lives" (this song is just AMAZING live!) and "Wherever You Will Go". At some point in the show Alex said "i'd like to thank some special people for coming down to the show!" and he pointed to our little group of lofters, hehe. It was sweet. Oh! Alex dropped his mic in the middle of a song (don't remember which one) he just looked at Chops, started laughing and picked it up, hehe. The show was amazing, but went by waaaaaaay too fast!!! So then after the show, I went with Mom, Jadzia, Mom's son and his girlfriend to wait for the guys to come out. Corey was there when we got there. After a while he went back inside. Then chops came out and went to the tour bus.. I really wanted to take a picture with each one of them, so then the next time Corey came out, I got a picture with him. It was funny because he came out and these girls went up and asked him for autographs, but then like right after, Alex came out, and all the girls went to talk to him! So then I went up to him and asked to take a picture with him and he said something like "Yay, I have a fan too!" After a while he went back inside. Then Chops came out and went to the tour bus. I noticed the same two girls I saw before the show waving around these posters. So I went up to them to ask them where they got them and if they were selling them and they just gave me two of them! It was cool :) I gave the extra one to Jadzia, who gave it to Mom. So then Chops came back from the tour bus and I asked to take a picture with him. He was drinking a beer and said "Oh, I better hide this!" I also got a pic of him with Jadzia. After that, he talked to me and Jadzia for a while. Then we saw Mom with Alex and we went up to them. Jadzia told him about the Canadian street team and how BMG refuses to promote them. They say there‘s no need for it. Alex said something like “Yeah, def. no need for it. You can tell!” I felt so bad for him...I mean, they came all the way here and there were hardly anyone showed up for the show :( so then Alex noticed me standing there with my camera and said “Hi...did you want to take a picture?” and I said “Oh no, actually I already took one with you at the meet and greet and he said “Oh ok” then mom told him that I had seen them in Brazil and how different it is there. So then Alex went to the tour bus and Mom went with him. So then I was only missing pictures with Daniel and Justin...but they were nowhere to be seen! I was starting to think that they had already gone into the tour bus. But then Justin came out and I asked if I could get a picture with him and he said “Oh ok...I look like shit, but sure!” Then Daniel came out a little while later and I got a picture with him too. He said “I wanna see that picture up on the loft tomorrow!” it was funny, lol. Then Mom went to talk to the guys to get their birthdays for the calendar. So we were just saying our goodbyes and I was gonna go get the bus, but Mom offered me a ride home. It was funny because I kept like giving her directions to my house and Corey (not Corey from the band, her son, lol) kept like repeating everything I said louder so she could hear. And everytime there was a red light, he’d yell out “red light mom!” lol. So then when we got closer to my house I told her she could just leave me in front of a restaurant called Tim Hortons and I would walk the rest of the way. Then she said “No! I don’t want you to walk late at night! I’ll take you to your house! What kind of mom would I be if I didn’t?” Mom, you rock! It was soooooo cool to finally meet you!! I’ll never forget this day...it was just amazing! Mom, I can’t wait to see you in Binghamton! Hopefully i’ll be going soon, lol. So that’s the end of my long review! I took sooooo many pictures (like almost three rolls of film!) but I still have to get them developed and scanned for you guys. Hopefully I’ll put them up soon!

Mariana's Story

My friend Nicole and I left here around 9:00 am and got to Ottawa at about 11:30. After finding some REALLY creepy people, and walking around a bit, we sat down at the corner where the venue was. Nothing much happened. I saw who I think was Corey on the bus, and told my friend “Oh my god! I think it’s Corey!” and I think I said it too loud and freaked him out…coz then they pulled down the blinds. Lmao! Anyways…after about an hour…don’t really know how long it was…we met up with Jadzia! After getting to know each other, seeing Justin and Corey walk past, and hours of waiting…we met up with Mom too! Behind her was her son Corey and his girlfriend (Megan?). We all got to know each other, and we looked at the wishbook. Turned out very nicely! :) We saw Daniel, and I got my pic with him! :) So then we waited for HOURS!!! We were surprised that no one was waiting in line except us. About an hour before the concert, we met up with Marianna, went to actually stand in the line, and some more people came. We got a pic of us Lofters! They let us all in at the same time, and the people going up to the meet and greet were let upstairs. It was pretty dark up there! We all got to talk to the guys, get hugs, pics, autographs, give whatever gifts we had, and all that stuff. And Alex thanked the lofters for the wishbook! :) I got pics of me and each of the guys, and Marianna, Nicole and I got a group pic with all the guys. And when Alex signed my CP, he wrote “Kat – I love cats!” he he! It was really cute! :) I told him that Your Hope was my fave song, and he told me to tell the other guys to learn how to play it! So I did, and Chops said he knew how to play it, and Justin said he did too. So then Justin started pretending to play the drums and singing “When your hope is lost, and you can’t take it”. Was very cute!! :P So then we all went downstairs and got first/second row! Right up close! The opening band was not too bad. I think we were kinda biased since we knew when they left, TC would come on! :P Mom got a copy of the setlist and crossed out Chasing The Sun and but in Dreaming In Red, and added WIAFD to the end. :P she showed Alex when they started Chasing The Sun, and he laughed about it! :P VERY good show though! During Things Will Go My Way, he through his guitar pick into the audience, and I got it! I think us Lofers were the most energetic in the crowd! Singing along with EVERY song! :) The guys all did VERY good! (like there was any doubt!) it was a great first TC experience! Bought two shirts well I was there too! :) very nice. We had to leave right after the concert coz my ride was leaving, but was still a VERY good day! :)

Kat's Story

This is my story (kinda long)

I called a guy working for a Swedish magazine, I asked him if they were about to do any interview with The Calling as The Calling were coming to Sweden in a couple of weeks. He said maybe, and then I asked him if I could be the one who interviewed them. He said I could send him an e-mail with my address, name phone number etc. etc. A couple of weeks later, he e-mailed me and said that I could do the interview.

So there I was, standing in the lobby of the hotel where Alex and the guys stayed. I was very very nervous, I cried and stuff. Hehe. And when I stood outside Alex's door, I was getting so nervous so I started to scream and cry, and I didn't want to go in the room. So MTV did their interview before I did mine, so I could calm down a bit. We sneaked in the room as the MTV interview was going on, so that I could take a look at Alex and get used to him being around. Then he came to me, and the interview started! It went very well :)

Then later (a couple of hours before the show started) my dad and I sat in an restaurant. It was the restaurant where the gig was going to be. So there we sat, when Chops, Vee and Arms walked in and sat by the table behind us!! :D:D

Moving on to the show, they started of with "Adrienne", and then "One by One". Later Alex suddenly said in the microfone: "This is a song for a girl named Sara, she got the chance to meet the band, and she is here somewhere tonight" (I am Sara) I started to scream in hope that he would hear me, of course he didn't :P So I put my sign up (I had a sign with me, which alex had signed earlier that day, so he knew I was going to have it with me) and Alex saw me. He pointed at me and smiled as he said "Oh, yeah there's Sara" And then they started to play "Anything" :D:D:D:D And a little bit later I put up my sign in the air again, and once again he pointed at me and said "Yeah, it's really nice" :D:D That was the most wonderful day of my life!!! :D

Sara's Story

I have just had the best day of my life! The Calling played at The China Club tonight. I didn't get tickets even though I tried really hard! I'm over from Scotland on holiday and just found out about it today.

My parents went down with me to the club to see if we could see the band. The door was open and me being me, I walked right in and up the stairs! There was only sound people there so my dad went over and asked them when the band were arriving. They turned round and said we could stay and meet them.

And that's what we did! We stayed and watched the sound check. Alex is very shy! He came over and talked to us and stuff and he's a great guy. When he heard that we didn't have tickets he went and got Sacha, the tour manager, and got us on the band's list to get in!!! I then got the band to sign my drawing and they liked it! Sacha introduced us to Corey, Chops and Arms. They're really cool too and they were pretty amazed that I came all the way from Scotland. What was cooler was that Sacha remembered me and my mom from the Manchester gig! He remembered her asking him to come to Scotland in a scary way!! He even remembered my post saying well at least it worked, cuz he's coming in October!

So Sacha if you're reading this you are THE coolest for making my dream come true!! (not forgeting the guys as well!)

We came back for the gig and I wasn't impressed by the Los Lonely Boys at all. Talented but not interesting. I got to the front and then Alex and the guys saw me and waved! Alex came over and held my hand a few times and that was vey cool cuz the girls behind me were screaming! lol! That topped the day off!

Thanks to everyone who got me in and made my day special in one way or another!

ps. Finally met Debbie and she's really nice! Hope you enjoyed the show as much as me!!!!

Debz's Story

I met TC July 3, 2004. At red, hot, and boom. They played 4 awesome songs and after words, my awesome aunt and me went to the other side of the lake. (TC played on a floating stage in the middle of Cranes Roost Lake). I was shaking so bad! My aunt was just going have me take a picture of Alex as he was walking by but that’s not what happened. Alex stopped to take a picture with me and my aunt said..."Alex! Hey! Can you stop and take a picture with-" "yeah!" says Alex. Then she says, "Wait, I have to tell you my story first, I planned it all out! My husband is in Iraq, and I’m here visiting my family in Florida, so can you take a picture with my niece?" "Yes!" Alex says again and I look at my aunt, feeling faint, all bug-eyed and crap, like 'Are you nuts?' and he puts his arm around my back, and he smiled and took the picture with me! This was the best day of my life!! The picture is below, in my banner

Ashley's Story

This weekend has just been too surreal!!!

I went to a concert in Manchester on the Friday, I had been looking forward to that since August when my dad had bought the tickets from the presale at Gigs and Tours. I was all set to go with my best friend, my shopping buddy and my dad but then my best friend forgot to meet us so she ended up missing out on the concert. My dad drove us back to my house where we had so food really quickly then we got changed into our outfits. I decide to go with what I normally where, a black ripped top and a black mini skirt with black tights and a black PVC jacket. My remaining friend decided to stand out and wore a grey jumper with sparkly threads, some plain jeans and some baby blue flat boots. (Even my dad was wearing all black!)
we managed to get into Manchester to the Carling Apollo for about 5:30pm. Luckily we saw some people we knew so we jumped into the queue with them. After a few minutes, we went to wait at the stage door - by which time it was raining heavily - to try and catch a glimpse at the bands.
Initially, we saw plenty of people from Zed but I didn’t have the courage to go up to them and ask for their autograph. Quite a bit later, just before the doors were going to open, I saw Nathan from Zed. This time I tried to approach him to get the t-shirt for my sister signed by him but he had a sound check to go to so he didn’t have time. He promised to come back later but I had to return to my place in the queue. The doors opened exactly on 7pm. I split up from my friend and my dad because there were a few doors open, some less busy than others. The front row of the auditorium was all occupied but there were very few people on the second row back, I managed to get the perfect place (the only exception being the front row but I don’t think there was much advantage to that) I was in the very center with a straight on view of the main microphone.
First on were Zed, they were okish. Their music is really great but they lack the PR skills that a band as new to the music industry as them needs. They played a new song, ‘Liberation’, which was nice then they played their classic song, ’Renegade Fighter’ which they devoted to the crowd (because we weresogood!)
next on was Katy Rose. She was amazing, she had done these really cool blue teardrops on her face, she had a better look than last time, and she was wearing trousers rather than a mini skirt so she was a lot more comfortable. I noticed that she wasn’t wearing shoes when she was performing; she actually came on wearing some mesh slipper type things then just took them off. I assume that that was so that she could pirouette easily around the stage. Sadly, her performance was over pretty quickly.
Between the end of Katy Rose’s performance and The Calling, the drummer from Katy Rose came out and started shaking people’s hands, I got to shake his hand for what seemed like ages. I was one of the last people to shake his hand before the security ushered him back backstage.
Soon The Calling came out and started performing, it was so cool. I think I was acknowledged a few times by Alex, you know just a smile in your direction, quite nice. They did a few acoustic songs, for which Alex played guitar as well as Chops and Arms, as soon as he had finished playing the guitar; he threw his plectrum into the crowd. The first plectrum he threw was red but that is about all I know. I took plenty of photos so hopefully they came out all right. I kept track of the set list on my arms so that I would have a rough idea of what song the band were playing in the photos. The set list is as follows:
One by One
Adrienne
Chasing the Sun
Anything
Could It Be Any Harder
Things Will Go My Way
For You
If Only
Why Don’t You and I
Stigmatized
Wherever You Will Go

and after the encore there was:
Dreaming In Red
Our Lives

when the band came out for the encore, Chops surprised everyone by being topless! That was one really memorable time I can tell you.
after the concert was over and the roadies threw all the stuff that the band had left behind into the crowd and gave one girl Alex’s pendant (the giant silver Chinese symbol), I met up with my friend and my dad again. As we got near the door where there was more light, my friend handed something me asking me what it was. At that point I screamed, if you were there you may remember, I was holding in my hand the red plectrum, mentioned earlier, that Alex had thrown into the crowd. It turned out that my friend had gotten pushed forward and the plec had hit her on the head and got caught in her hair band! She was so lucky. We then went to the merchandise stall and I got a t-shirt while my friend just got a poster. We then went back to my house.

If I thought that was pretty amazing, what happened over the next few days made me wonder whether life is real because things couldn’t be as perfect as they were.
I was discussing going to another TC concert with my dad on Saturday because Manchester had just blown me away but after explaining it, we wouldn’t be able to reach the other venues in time. I then conceded to defeat in our little debate. It was a shame but C’est la vie!
When I was checking my emails on the Saturday night, I found an amazing email, below is a transcript:
Hi Morgan,

I've been looking through the log to find our hardest working UK lofters. And you are one of the fans that has logged work in the last 2 months!

So I wanted to let you know how much we appreciate your efforts and that we are happy to have you as part of our team :)

To reward you for being so dedicated I want to set up a special meet & greet for you with the band. But I need to know if you are attending the Wolverhampton or London show so I can arrange that for you.

Obviously I'm not doing this for everyone. But the band and I wanted to thank you for all your effort and dedication.

So get back to me as soon as you can. I will give you details on everything when I know what show you are going to.

Hugs & smiles,
Roxanne

As soon as I could, I persuaded my parents to let me go to the concert and we got tickets. I was a little worried when I found out that Fanscape don’t work at weekends so I wouldn’t be contacted until about 4pm on the day of the concert.
We decided to risk it and go to the concert anyway so my dad wrote a note asking if I could have the half day off stating the real reason for why I would be absent. It was pretty worrying getting out of school because not only had my form teacher not read the note, she hadn’t put it in the register so I had to go searching for the head of year. Eventually they managed to phone her and I was allowed out of school.
I had put my outfit for the concert on underneath my uniform so as soon as I got to the car, I just took my uniform off and we were driving. We had very little problems navigating our way to Wolverhampton but as soon as we got into the city centre, it became a little problematic. After examining the maps carefully and seeing a road sign by sheer luck, we managed to find the place and where we were parking as well.
We then headed to the queue, I was always on the lookout for Sacha because I was told he knew the Meet and Greet details. Not long after we arrived, I saw Alex and Jen in the dirties taxi I had ever seen, I was doubtful that it was them because it looked so bad but it was so I just walked to where their Tour Bus was parked and got pretty close to them. The next thing I did was really embarrass myself because I thought a roadie called Dan was Sacha but when I found out he wasn’t, I gave him the emails I had had from the people working at Fanscape to pass on. This meant that they knew I was there then and could be looking out for me. Sometime throughout the day, I managed to see Sacha and as soon as I asked if he was Sacha he told me, “8 O’clock at the Mixing Board” and he made sure I knew where the mixing board was.
Since the concert wasn’t for four hours, I picked a bollard where I could lean and see the most stage doors. I took my dad’s camera and took photos of all the people related with the bands I could. Initially there wasn’t really anyone because The Calling were still in sound check but soon I started seeing them come and go. Arms and Jen were the first to leave, they just went into Wolverhampton City centre for a little bit and came back later with cups of either tea or coffee, I could have gone up to them but I guessed Jen didn’t like the publicity that she was getting. I saw Chops leaving also but I was too slow to realise so I didn’t manage a photo of him. I didn’t see any more members of The Calling for a bit but I did see Katy Rose and her drummer. Her drummer actually stopped to pose which was really nice but I didn’t get a picture of Katy at that time. When I next saw him, I asked him to sign my sister’s t-shirt and he said to me:
“Couldn’t she make it?”
I then told him, “Well she’s only six”
He then said, “That’s a good enough reason”
His autograph had a cute little drum, it was really nice.
The next person I saw was Corey so I got lots of pictures of him then he went for a quick stroll with a roadie up the road and came back. When he returned, I asked him if he would sign the t-shirt for my sister and he did.
The next time I saw Katy Rose’s drummer, he said to me, “There isn’t just me here, come on, have a picture with me, you can hold your camera out or something can’t you”. I asked if I could go and get my dad to take the photo and he was fine with it so I did and the picture was taken. That was really nice.
When Katy Rose was outside; he took a picture of me with her. She turned out to be quite a cool person, really laid back, it was a shame my dad’s camera wasn’t working but I had my camera so he just used that. Katy and him both found it cool when I mentioned about how my middle names were Katherine Rose and Katy told me her middle name is Rosemarie so her proper name is Katherine Rosemarie.
I saw the drummer quite a few times throughout the day, I had the common sense to go up to him at one point and talk with him:
Me - “I am sorry but I don’t know your name”
Him – “It’s River. What’s your name? Well I know your middle names are Katherine Rose but what is your first name?”
“It’s Morgan”
He then shook my hand making it really formal, this time it was him wanting to shake my hand, not the over way round like on Friday! Just before I went to queue up, he asked me if I was keeping warm and he told about how he had tried to buy a jacket but everywhere was closed.
At about 6:45pm, I went and queued back up with my dad. Just like at Manchester, the doors opened right on 7 but they didn’t open the door we were standing at. We had a lot of trouble getting in but eventually we did, because we had to go to the mixing board at 8 anyway, we decided to just stay there.
8 O’clock came and my name was on the list, much to my relief. There were about ten of us although, fair enough I thought but then we went to this really small room to meet the band. They all shook our hands to greet us then they signed, took pictures, gave us hugs, joked with us, it almost compensated for the lack of room! (Mind it was good to be squashed with the band). A few funny comments I got from the band were:
Arms – * Looking at a picture of Flarb * “Look there’s Flarb, I’ll send him your love”
Alex - * Seeing my necklace * “So you’re a ‘Loftie’ not a ‘Lofter’!”
A brief conversation between Chops and myself:
Chops - *Looking at a photo of himself taken from the Manchester concert * “My hair was longer then”
Myself – “That was just two or three days ago”
Chops - * Jokingly * * Touching his hair * “Yeah I’ve had a haircut!”

They all signed my sister’s t-shirt, my photo of them and my notebook. I also had Corey sign a photo I had taken with him in July (Chops signed that also).
We were quickly ushered back down to the stalls where I got a brilliant place to see the end of Katy Rose’s set. I then moved for a better position to watch The Calling. They had an amazing set:
One by One
Adrienne
Chasing The Sun
Anything
Could It Be Any Harder
Things Will Go My Way
For You (this song was dedicated to the crowd and at one point, Alex peered round the speakers and appeared point straight at me!)
If Only
Surrender
Jamming
Somebody Out There
Why Don’t You and I
Hold On To You (the song Alex sung to Jen at their Wedding)
Jamming bits of Stigmatized
Stigmatized
After the Encore – Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
Our Lives
After the show, I hoped that Alex would come out but there seemed to be something strange going on.

If you managed to read all of this, wow, thank you for being patient.
